Welcome, New Friends!

Our Little Family

Hi there.  Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my blog.  I am so excited to start this journey and share a part of my life with each and every one of you.  I do hope you will consider us friends.

Great!  And now that we are all friends here, I can skip the formalities and jump right into the juicy stuff like I do when I invite a girlfriend over for a glass or two of wine and some serious gossiping catching up!

This tiny corner of the universe may be small but I plan to fill it with all of the splendid little things that mean the most to me and fill my life with passion.  I am one lucky girl to have such a supportive husband, Adam, who doesn’t think I am crazy (or at least keeps it to himself!) for filling his weekends with never ending DIY projects and home improvement lists.  If it wasn’t for him, I am certain those lists would never have anything checked off of them.  Our little daughter, loving referred to as Peanut for her entire one year of existence, has kept me grounded to what is really important and how to cherish those fleeting moments that can make my entire week.

Like how Peanut helps Mommie with the laundry!

It really is funny how you can love something so small, so incredibly much!  As much focus as we put into our family life, we try and also put into our individual growth and passions.  I think it is important to set aside time to spend not only as a family and as a couple but also as individuals.  Keeping myself happy and fulfilled, by doing the things that make me feel challenged in my life, ensures my family gets the best possible version of me in their lives.  And let’s be real…when momma isn’t happy, nobody is happy!

True Love

Don’t get me wrong, I am still a girl who loves fashion and any reason to throw on a pair of high heels but I have spent a large portion of this last year learning about myself and what works and what doesn’t work for our family.  Sometimes I feel like my life is one big trial and error; always changing with the ever growing needs of our family and lifestyle.   If any of my successes or failures can help you (or provide you with a good laugh), then I consider it a job well done!

So, let’s just say this is a lifestyle blog.  I say this so I can get away with posting about anything that tickles my fancy at the time.  However, my absolute favorite things that comprise most of my free time tend to be:

Sneak Peak of My Chinese New Year Dinner Party

  • Hosting fabulous parties – I am a sucker for anything themed! Checkout my Chinese New Year Dinner Party here.
  • Home Improvement Projects
  • Pinterest Successes and Pinterest Fails – seriously, who doesn’t love to see a good Pinterest FAIL?!  Don’t worry, I will share mine with you!!
  • DIY – NOT!!  I literally have not met a DIY project (big or small) that I haven’t loved.
  • New Recipes – I am currently on an Asian food kick but my tastes change as quickly as the tide.
  • New and Creative Ways to Get Organized
  • Fitness
  • Planning Activities for the Seasons
  • Discovering my own local backyard (North Carolina) and stumbling across hidden gems!

Hopefully, you have gotten to know me just a little bit better.  If you are interested in anything in particular, drop me a line or leave me a comment.  I would love to hear from you!

Have a splendidly smitten day!
